I can't talk about how bad this hike was ENOUGH! I have to say this was and is the worst hike I've been on in years. It basically goes STRAIGHT UP with gravel rocks underfoot and the sun beating down on you. Leanna practically fainted the whole way and so we took our time. The rest of our group went on ahead of us leaving us arrows in the dust to direct our path. We just kept hoping they would turn around and we wouldn't have to go up any higher! After finding Horse poop we decided this hike was really appropriately named HORSETAIL Falls. haha
We did finally make it to the top after passing HUGE boulders, more steep climbs and a message from our group (that was 45 min ahead of us). I have to say it really wasn't worth the view. You can't get close to the falls so there is just this HUGE boulder look out point that is very dangerous. We ate our granola bars and let our heart rate come down then after about 25 min heard our group coming back down the mountain. We were SO happy we didn't have to hike further. I vowed never to do this hike again in my lifetime! haha It really isn't something I "need" to do. I was proud of Leanna for sticking it out and following me to the top. She was a trooper.
