My Pretty Girls
Live Nativity 09
We attended this lovely event where there was a LIVE nativity. It was sooo cold, but worth it. Live animals, free hot cocoa, roman soldiers, reverence. Total quiet atmosphere and pondering about the birth of our Savior. It was truly magical.

COMFORT FOOD

OK OK O.K! These recipes are SOOOO tasty and are the ultimate comfort food in cold weather. I am FREEEEEZZZZIIIINNNNGGGG in Utah at the moment so everything hot or warm sounds good to me. Hope your families enjoy these as well. Remember all my recipe cards I create are JPEG files and can be downloaded and sent to Sams or Costco (UT) to print in the photo center. I keep all my little creations in a photo book all nice and cute! Let me know what you think. Love, love, love: LA LA

OK OK...I repent. I'll blog again...
Since EASTER 09 I have joined the world of FACEBOOK and have neglected this blog. However, as you can see we have moved to Utah now and I want to start blogging again so family and friends who do NOT FB can keep in touch with us.
This is our new home in Cedar Hills and we are so excited about S.N.O.W. As you can tell from the lamppost we live in NARNIA now. Krista is very excited about that and we are trying to stay warm and happy.

FANTASY FUDGE & Saucy MEATBALLS

I was sitting thinking of my sister Sarah and thought I'd make up her favorite item to receive from me in the mail...FUDGE! I don't know of anyone who loves this more in my family. Mom made this when we were younger and has passed it on to me. I think it is best frozen (could be that is because Texas is so dang HOT!), and have had numerous "outer body experiences" LOL feasting on these bad boys while at the beach or when I just need a pick-me-up! Hope these brighten your day as they have mine.
Also decided to make a card of my brother DONNY PAULs favorite dish. Since before I can remember his eyes roll back in his head when he gets a plate full of these babies! Really simple to make and to enjoy.
Banana Pudding - SOOOO GOOD!
GC - Salsa

Every General Conference we have a tradition of making "dips" during the Saturday sessions. Our family favorite is Uncle Craig's Salsa. No matter how many times we make it, it doesn't taste as good as when he makes it! We miss being with him and his sweet family. However, we still try and love this special time of year when we get wonderful council from our beloved prophet and leaders of our great, true church.

SLUSH SLUSH SLUSH!

We call this "Linda Rutty Punch" in my family. Linda was a "super" mom during my elementary school days who always brought this yummy punch to our Valentines parties. My mom asked her for the recipe and it's been a family favorite since. I make this every Easter. My kids LOVE it. Hope your family loves it too!

RIBS and DONNY

Donny came to visit this weekend. Mainly because he loves me and my cooking but had the excuse since he wanted to witness Rob being put into our new bishopric as 1st counselor. We are so glad when Donny comes. We love him. I made Ribs, Baked Potatoes, Fruit Salad, Homemade bread and Cream pie. For Donny though I had to make something chocolate. It's tradition! Brownies with Bluebell. I think Donny went home to buy a BBQ Grill after this dinner. He was moaning throughout the whole dinner in pure happiness! LOL SO I included the recipes here in this post. Thanks to my best bud Rebecca for the rib recipe. It is truly the best!
DYSON! It's AWESOME!!

DAY 3 - Spring Break at the BEACH
We have been trying to make every day of Spring Break fun so today we went to the BEACH. CRAZY crowded, but worth it. The girls loved it. I got so sunburned and I am in pain this morning as I am posting this message. We went to G-ma's too. Saw the new calves and chicken. Travis was glad to see us since he has been locked up in the house doing a movie project. WE LOVE HIM! After we got home we showered and complained about our burns. Wade isn't a fan of the beach so he stayed home and did the yard...YAY FOR ME!
Day 2 - Spring Break (RELAX, BIKE, Sidewalk CHALK)
My girls can have fun just being together. They are sooo fun and cute. Bike riding, sidewalk chalk, swings, park and lots of water. They are enjoying everyday.

BEST PANCAKES EVER!!!

Rob religiously wakes up every Saturday morning and makes home-made pancakes. Sometimes they are in fun shapes (Like the kids ages on their birthdays), and sometimes they are plain, but each and every way they are delish! We love them so much and no one can seem to make them better. The kids love waking up to bacon and pancakes. Thought I'd post this recipe for all of you who have stayed over and been lucky enough to have these wonderful disks of happiness!! LOL - Enjoy! PS. Tamra taught me about adding coconut to the pancakes...SO GOOD. Thanks Tam Tam.

Babies Babies and more Babies
Ashna came down to visit while Chad worked in Houston. I was SO VERY happy to finally see little Addie/Adelyn. She is the best baby and as sweet as her mama! We took loads of pictures. Patrice came down and brought her little cousin Emma to play with and then Theresa (our first cousin) brought her baby Lexi down as well. We had a week full of babies and a load of fun. We hated to see them leave and so look forward to another visit.
District and State Competition for Wade
We have been SO busy with so many things, but mostly Wade. He just went two weekends in a row competing at Districts and State. He won Districts in Humorous Interpretation (2nd year in a row) which got him qualified for National Competition in June/Alabama. Then this past weekend he competed at State and placed 3rd in H.I. This is a huge accomplishment for him. Texas is the 2nd largest competition in the Nation. He also went to Harvard in Boston and competed there Nationally and place top 20. We are so proud of him and look forward to all the fun in the summer, and of course, his senior year. GO WADE!
